Problem

We are plagued with drug abuse and mental health issues in our community. More children are becoming addicted to substances that can alter and destroy their minds before they finish developing. This leads to a higher percentage of mental health issues which cause our youth to be unable to secure a successful future.

Solution

The same mind module teaches our children the effects that drug and alcohol abuse can have on their minds. They begin to recognize that drugs are harmful and can damage brain cells causing them to be less likely to succeed. Parents are taught to provide more supervision to their children to make sure substance abuse is not taking place. We also offer alternative activities, after school and summer programs to the youth so their time can be spent doing positive things and they can focus on success.
